Year 10 is a critical year in trying to understand the level of mathematics that will be pursued in high school. It is very important that we align our students' desires to what they want to learn at school. In our Year 10 Math course, our tutors give students all the tools required for them to pursue the level of mathematics they wish to do for the HSC.
As students head into senior school, they will be required to assess their ability in mathematics. By providing a challenging environment for all our students, we build their confidence and resilience to investigate mathematics at a higher level compared to their peers, allowing for them to succeed in senior school.
Mathematics is a difficult subject to master in high school. This may often lead students to become frustrated, rejecting mathematics as an important subject in school. At YGA, our mentors will provide all our students a more interesting, engaging and fun environment in investigating mathematics and supporting them when necessary.
A calm thinker with an ATAR of 97.2, James has imparted his stress free and positive attitude to all our students as a reliable teacher and mentor for the past 9 years! His strengths are communication and interpersonal skills from working as a service specialist at Optus and studying philosophy at the University of Sydney. James has a goal to impart all this knowledge to everyone and encourage them to think beyond what high school and life has to offer, challenging them to achieve their potential in and outside the classroom.
By far our most creative tutor, Ann is a successful fashion designer who has enjoyed teaching for the past 8 years. Having graduated with an ATAR of 97.45, her attention to detail and fresh perspective encourages students minds to “think outside the box”.
