Many students have difficulty improving in English as they find that the assessment requirements and grading system are quite vague. Our tutors guide students through each Preliminary Advanced English module, filling in the gaps in their understanding and breaking down the steps they need to take to maximise their marks.
Our Year 11 Advanced English course is designed to prepare students for Year 12 by giving them the confidence and practice they need to perform under pressure. We provide quality feedback and encouraging advice to hone students' strengths and help them address their weaknesses.
Students are often demotivated when it comes to English as it is a highly abstract subject which may not translate directly to the real world. By highlighting the logic and thought behind English, we nurture their communication and critical thinking skills, as well as their love for learning.
Common Module: Reading to Write
Module A: Narratives that Shape our World
Module B: Critical Study of Literature
Known by our team and all of our students to be one of the most giving people, Vivian has always been there for everyone who needed help with one of the hardest subjects in HSC; English. With an ATAR of 98.7, Vivian enjoys applying what she had learnt from her Bachelor’s degree of Commerce (majoring in information systems) and Computer Science to the academy, both in management and giving students insight as to why English is crucial in real life: “It gives you the ability to be heard by others!”
Each teacher applies school concepts to real life situations beyond the books. Apart from years of teaching experience, our teachers include doctors, lawyers, engineers, IT, psychologists and finance just to name a few.
