Course Goals

Improve Academic Performance

Not only will you see how 3U mathematical concepts such as finance and data can be used in your daily life, but the tutors at YGA will demonstrate the derivations of the many formulas you will learn in Ext 1 Math and teach you how to further manipulate them to ace your Year 12 assessments.

Build Confidence and Resilience

Although you might have already covered trigonometry and calculus in Advanced Math, we cover these difficult topics to a much greater depth in our HSC Extension 1 Math course so our students can be confident in their ability to effectively manipulate these concepts to solve more challenging questions.

Appreciate the Applications of Mathematics

The mentors at YGA plan to take things on the next level with Ext 1 Math by not only showing students how math teaches us the ability to "learn how to learn", but also how we can all appreciate how to solve problems logically and practice outside of the box thinking.

Even though Maths Extension 2 is a very daunting subject, the tutors there go above and beyond to explain everything, even outside class time! I love how passionate the tutors are with maths and physics, this motivates me to learn more than what school teaches me and makes the learning process more enjoyable.
Abbas Zaidi
